SESSION 2 DATES: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12 – FRIDAY, JANUARY 24. NO CLASS: 11/11, 11/25-29, 12/23 – 1/3, 1/20

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED FOR SESSION 2 ENRICHMENT CLASSES

How to Enroll

We use an online registration platform this session called 6Crickets. Note that you will be entered into a lottery when you register for some classes. You will receive a confirmation email with further instructions when registration is complete. See additional information about how to register here. For lottery classes, families will be notified by email before the class start date about acceptance. Please respond as soon as possible to that email if you are not planning to take the class so we can offer the spot to another student. We try to assign siblings on the same days/times or in the same class when requested.

Other enrichment opportunities

STAR Nova also offers enrichment classes on the La Ballona campus after school: https://www.starinc.org/nova. If you’re interested in Capoeira classes next to La Ballona, please visit www.capoeirabrasil.com. Please note this is not a PTA program, and you must register directly through Capoeira Brasil.

Payment

You will be sent an invoice by email when your child is enrolled. You can pay the invoice online or bring cash or check to the first day of class. (Payment by check is to La Ballona PTA. Tennis check payment is to RhinoCrash Sports.)

Financial Assistance

Please email laballonaenrichment@gmail.com prior to completing online registration if you would like to request financial assistance.  Indicate whether you are in need of full (100%) assistance or partial (50%).

Waivers

Garden Club, Chapter Book & Picture Book Writing, Spanish Crafts, Music & Movement, and Songwriting Class families must sign the PTA waiver and return it to the teacher on the first day of class. The PTA waiver is part of the online registration process, but a hard copy waiver can be turned in to the enrichment teacher on the first day of class if you prefer. If your child is in OCD aftercare, you must fill out BOTH the OCD and PTA waivers. Email OCD waivers to jessicahurston@ccusd.org. If your child is in OCD after care, you must fill out BOTH the OCD and PTA waiver forms.

Students in aftercare

Aftercare programs will be given a list of students enrolled in PTA enrichment classes. Office of Child Development (OCD) aftercare program students must sign a waiver form to be released from the program. Students enrolled in STAR, OCD, or YSE must quickly check in with their aftercare teacher before entering enrichment class. They will return to aftercare after the enrichment class is over.

For students not in an aftercare program

Information on where to meet for each class and where to pick up your student(s) will be included in the acceptance email. Please be on time for pick-up. We do not have staff or volunteers to wait with students if they are not picked up on time.

Kindergarten students are always escorted to and from class.

Volunteer Opportunities

We need volunteers for enrichment classes!  Volunteers help take attendance and can help students with activities.  It is a fantastic opportunity to help students learn in a fun environment.  Volunteer duties vary depending on the class.   Please indicate on your registration form if you are interested in volunteering. Before and after-school volunteers do not need to be cleared and are not expected to teach the classes.
